Ad Blocking Tools and WordStream

Ad blocking tools check for keywords such as Ad, Ads and AdWords and block sections of applications containing words. These words appear repeatedly in our software. We recommend disabling these types of programs while using WordStream to make sure that the software functions properly.

How to Disable or Create Exceptions For Your Extensions

Chrome

Create Exception for AdBlock Plus in Chrome

  1. Go to wordstream.com in Chrome
  2. Navigate to the Ad Block Plus icon in the top right of the browser (It looks like a stop sign with ABP on it) and click on it
  3. In the dropdown, Click on the text ‘Enabled on this site’ so it reads ‘Disabled on this site’

Create Exception for AdBlock in Chrome

  1. Open Chrome
  2. Navigate to the AdBlock icon in the top right of the browser (it looks like a shield with a hand on it) and click on it
  3. In the dropdown, click ‘Options’
  4. It will bring you to a AdBlock page, click on the customize tab
  5. Under Stop Block Ads click on Show ads on webpage or domain
  6. In the open field copy and paste “|*.wordstream.com/” (without the parenthesis) and then click the ‘OK’ button
  7. The domain ‘@@|*.wordstream.com/$document’ should appear in the grey box below

Disable Adblock Plus in Chrome

  1. 1. Open Chrome Browser
  2. 2. Click on Chrome Menu Button in top right corner. It button is 3 horizontal lines.
  3. 3. Select Settings on the drop down
  4. 4. Locate the extensions tab on the left of your browser
  5. 5. Navigate to you Adblock extension
  6. Remove the checkmark next to ENABLE to the right of Adblock extension

Firefox

Create Exception for AdBlock Lite in Firefox

  1. Open Firefox
  2. Navigate to the AdBlock Lite icon in the top right of the browser (it looks like a shield) and click on it
  3. In the dropdown, you’ll see a ‘Enter a website address to exclude’ 
  4. Type ‘wordstream.com’ into this bar and click the plus sign (+) to the right of the bar

Disable Adblock Plus or Adblock Lite in Firefox

  1. 1. Open Firefox browser
  2. 2. Click on the Firefox Menu Button in the top right corner. It is 3 horizontal lines.
  3. 3. Select Add-Ons from the drop down menu
  4. 4. Locate the extensions tab on the left side of your browser
  5. 5. Navigate to your Adblock Extension
  6. Click the ‘Disable’ button to the right of the Adblock extension
