Shopping Cart Abandonment? Too bad we can't ask CMOs and CEOs for their demographic information the next time they purchase gas for their car. Then they might understand shopping cart abandonment.
Luke on "Mad Libs" increasing lead conversions at an auto dealership??? That's worth printing and keeping in a file somewhere for when I need it. It may have increased "leads" on cars by 25-40%. But I wonder if the auto dealership ever closed any of those sales? By the way, have you ever seen the Internet lead room at a sophisticated auto dealership with 10 young adults crammed together following up sales leads in the early evening? (Glad I wasn't in that room.)
Lisa Barone's "What if there was no Twitter" was terrific. Does anyone on your staff remember when WordStar or WordPerfect were the queens of word processing? Probably not. One day Twitter will fade, get bought, altered, or morph. Lisa makes the point that Twitter is a vehicle for branding, just like various others. What is durable in the Internet world, for now? Web pages driven by keyword research seems a durable method in these changing times.
I read Scott Cowley's DIY graphics for non-designers. I've learned over time that "C" students in Art in grade school shouldn't pretend to do graphics in any shape or form. I appreciated Scott's ideas, but I'll leave the art to artists as always. (It's a Peter Drucker "The Effective Executive" thing on my part.)
Amber at PPC Hero's "Find Irrelevant Traffic Before It Finds You" was helpful. I'm reading more and more of PPC Hero. I'm pretty sure I found www.PPCHero.com courtesy of WordStream.
Thanks Elisa, there's a lot of us out here reading and learning from WordStream.
