Gerard Escalante joined the company in 2007. Starting with a product concept envisioned by Larry Kim, Gerard built initial WordStream prototypes. These prototypes provided the basis for many of the current WordStream products. He is presently responsible for the management of the Engineering team, which develops the full WordStream suite of products.
To support the development of the company's products, Gerard has been strongly inspired by the Open Source software movement. Management of WordStream's Engineering team is guided by the Distributed Agile Development model, which provides a unique level of flexibility with regards to recruiting talented engineers. This realizes benefits for both the company and for individual engineers.
Gerard has over 8 years of experience in software development and management of corporate IT systems. Prior roles include: development of large scale spatial data processing systems which integrate seamlessly with multiple database platforms at Safe Software; and design and management of data centers which facilitate the nationwide operations of several companies.
