WordStream Ramps for Growth, Announces New CEO

Molecular founder and former Isobar COO Ralph J. Folz is elected CEO by WordStream Board of Directors.

August 11, 2010 – WordStream, Inc. (http://www.wordstream.com) today announced that Ralph J. Folz has been appointed CEO of the company as Rob Adler steps down to spend more time mentoring young startups and teaching.

Folz has an extensive background in the digital marketing space, including founding and subsequently selling Molecular Inc., an interactive Web design and Web marketing agency. Folz spent the last two plus years as Global Chief Operating Officer of Isobar, one of the largest digital marketing agencies in the world.

Folz expressed excitement at WordStream’s market opportunity: “I think there is tremendous growth potential for WordStream in the coming months and years. Given the differentiated nature of the company’s technology and the success to date in establishing a strong brand along with the rapid growth in the WordStream customer base, I’m confident we can establish ourselves as a global market leader.”

Folz joins the company as it prepares for aggressive growth – in May, WordStream secured series B financing in a round led by Egan-Managed Capital, joined by existing investor Sigma + Partners. The company has already begun to use the funding for continued expansion of its product suite for search engine optimization (SEO) and pay-per-click (PPC) advertising.

Folz joined WordStream’s board a year ago and has been impressed with the company’s accomplishments thus far.

“During my tenure on the Board, I’ve been impressed with the growth in the number of companies who leverage WordStream from zero to over five hundred,” Folz said. “I’ve been consistently impressed by the speed with which product enhancements and innovations are implemented, the tremendous market presence WordStream has established in such a short period of time, and of course the company’s ability to increase and retain revenue month after month. I’m very grateful for Rob’s contributions and look forward to helping the company achieve continued expansion and improvement.”

WordStream, an Internet marketing software company specializing in helping companies identify and organize profitable keyword opportunities to maximize leads and sales while minimizing costs, was recently selected by AlwaysOn as a Top 100 Company. WordStream was also identified by Google as an “Editor’s Pick” in the Google Analytics Application Gallery.
