WordStream Promotes Howard Kogan in Preparation for Another Big Growth Year
BOSTON, MA, JANUARY 10, 2018 - WordStream, a leading provider of online advertising software and services, announced this week that it has promoted Howard Kogan, appointed President of the company in June of 2017, to the position of Chief Executive Officer effective immediately. The change will position WordStream to start off the new year with a bang, thanks to Kogan’s deep experience leading large and growing companies.
Concurrent with this change, Kogan will join WordStream’s Board of Directors. Former CEO Ralph Folz will remain on the Board of Directors and move into the role of Executive Chairman, where his focus will increase on external relationships, partnerships, and growth by acquisition.
2017 was a big year for WordStream. The company landed on the Inc. 5000 for the fifth year in a row, posting an aggregate three-year growth rate of 165%, making it one of the fastest-growing Advertising & Marketing companies in Boston. It was included on the Boston Business Journal’s Top Places to Work list for the third year in a row and named one of the Boston Globe’s Top Places to Work for 2017. WordStream now has over 250 employees and is powering more than 10,000 advertisers and agencies globally.
In addition, WordStream made its first acquisition in 2017 (Algorithmic Ads, a software provider that helps businesses quickly generate effective display ads) and made a number of key product enhancements and announcements, including the launch of the Facebook Ads Grader to pair with the award-winning AdWords Performance Grader. The new free tool will help businesses quickly benchmark, analyze, and improve their Facebook advertising campaigns for better results.
