WordStream Makes Its First Acquisition!

February 26, 2020

The pace of growth here at WordStream over the past several years has been phenomenal to experience. We’ve been named to the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies four years in a row, and in December we moved into an amazing new office space with more capacity to support our growth plans.

Today, I’m very excited to announce the beginning of our next phase of growth: We’ve just acquired Algorithmic Ads, a California-based company that has developed software to help businesses quickly generate great-looking, effective display ads based on their existing website imagery. The software algorithmically selects content, images, color schemes, and calls to action from existing business assets and then dynamically builds a variety of IAB-compliant display ads to fit all ad formats on display networks including Google and Facebook.

Our mission here is to make the complex world of online advertising as easy as possible for businesses of all sizes, and this acquisition supports that. We’ll be incorporating this technology into our core online advertising platform, WordStream Advisor, so our customers can easily build out high-performance display advertising campaigns for both paid search and paid social networks—all without having to hire or outsource to a visual designer. The end goal is for our clients to manage every aspect of their ad campaigns, across platforms, in one simple dashboard that helps them drive better results.

As of today Algorithmic Ads’ two co-founders, CEO John Marshall and Chief Technology Officer David Prinzing, will be joining WordStream’s product and engineering teams to help drive our expanding display advertising strategy. Both of our companies are focused on helping businesses succeed at online advertising even if they don’t have a huge staff or budget, so it’s really a great match, and we’re very happy to bring them on board.

We are just getting started! We are actively exploring additional acquisitions and partnerships to further accelerate our vision of making online advertising as simple as possible. Stay tuned and thank you for your continued support.
